You would agree, singing Bollywood songs in their closest form requires years of training and riyaaz in classical music. Does that mean someone without that training will not be able to do justice ? Bandishi Bollywood strongly believed that the gap could be bridged.
BB created a framework which distills the essence of a long term classical music training and infuses it within the nuanced learning of the art of Bollywood singing such that aspirants can hone their skills within a much compact duration.
Bandish is a small composition in verse in Hindustani Classical music that brings out the chalan of a raaga which forms the foundation for most Bollywood songs. The marriage of the two is Bandishi Bollywood. BB is here to coach anyone who wants to improve, collaborate with who wants to join hands to make it bigger and create content for a shared knowledge-base for every enthusiast.
Reetesh was born and brought up in the rich cultural heritage of Odisha. He started his musical journey at a very young age and won his 1st district level music competition at the age of 7 .
From a very tender age, Reetesh started appearing in numerous classical and semi classical programs and bhajan samarohs. At the age of 14, he got associated with Rotary club and started performing live with orchestra. He also participated in a national level singing competition organized by Channel [V] Super Singer.
He gave audition to the famous singer/composer Adnana Sami and was selected as one of the Top 5 contestants from east zone. He has been associated with band Raaga since his college days and has been actively performing in the classical music arena.
His eloquent rendition of Bollywood music makes him a fine entertainer and a balm for the anguished soul. His melodious baritone voice, his expressions and fulfilment touches the listeners with an unbelievable fidelity.
Reetesh pursued his higher order learning of classical music under stalwarts in the domain. Simultaneously he had been associated as a senior faculty with a reputed Hindustani Classical Music school in Bangalore for 10 years, of which he was a founding member.
He constantly improvises to create new curriculum and techniques to make learning easier, more fun and effective. In this journey, Reetesh has explored his own self and has assimilated the values so imperceptibly that his music is more than just technique, style or aesthetics.
He is an Electronics and Communication Engineer from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
